Tricia Woo’s practice developed through floral design, sustained study of pressed botanical material and pictorial composition.
Pressed material is not simply decoration applied to a picture; it is the substance from which the picture is built.
Petals, leaves, stems and preserved botanical fragments are selected for colour, line, texture and structure, then composed into finished pictorial works. Their physical character remains visible rather than being digitally disguised.

Historical works are retained because an artist’s development is easier to understand when the record is not repeatedly erased by redesigns.
The permanent archive currently documents works from 2017, 2019 and 2020. Original titles and other details that cannot yet be supported by documentation are marked as under verification rather than reconstructed from memory.
Independent press coverage now provides an additional public record of the practice from at least 2018 through 2024.
